playbakk runs on your computer next to WhatsApp, Telegram, FaceTime, Zoom, Meet or any other call app, and records your own camera and microphone. The call itself carries on exactly as normal.
There is no integration with any call service, and nothing is recorded in secret. Tell the other person you are recording your side.
Your camera, your mic
Headphones are recommended so the other person’s voice stays out of your microphone. A short check before the call shows you what will be captured.
Their turns removed
When you hang up, playbakk detects who is speaking, removes their turns and joins your answers into one continuous take.

Your face is kept centred for vertical video, with 4:5, 1:1 and 16:9 available for feeds and landscape.
Ready to post
Captions from your transcript follow the cut: import an SRT file. Automatic transcription is not enabled in this release. You review the whole clip for sound, picture and private details before exporting.
Three privacy modes.
Me only is the default: just you. Them only and Both include the other person, and are available only after they agree through a consent link they open in their browser, with no account needed.
Their speech is not turned into captions without that agreement.
On your phone.
Phones do not let another app record during a native call, so there is no live capture on a phone. Import a recording of the call, or an Apple Local Capture file where your device supports it, then review and edit it. Imported mixed voices cannot currently export Me only; including the other person requires a valid consent receipt.
Made for more than one frame.
Export in portrait, feed portrait, square or landscape. Preview the file in the app you plan to post to before sharing. playbakk never posts anything for you.
